Dear Parishioner, I am excited and optimistic as we embark on our Campaign called: Faith and Commitment will build Our Future. Faith is at the core of who we are. It is God’s gift to us in baptism. A gift He calls us to use for His work. This gift offers us eternal life when we use it according to His will. If it was God’s will to begin this community in 1980, and His will to make it grow these last 30 years, then I believe it is His will for us to take this next step in our Faith journey. How will we get there? Commitment! The same commitment as those who have come before us—now it is our turn to make our Faith commitment. This is our past, and this will be Our Future. How will we build our future? With this Campaign, we are positioning our parish for future growth by focusing on three goals. First, a portion of our Campaign dollars will support the efforts of the Diocesan campaign. It is an opportunity for our parish to “give back” in much the same way that the Diocese and the Lexington parishes helped us realize our vision of building Seton Catholic School. This Campaign also includes your Annual Appeal pledge for 2010-2011. Our second goal is to pay down the principal on the parish debt. It has been a challenge for us to manage the interest and principal payments out of our operating budget that is funded by the Sunday offertory. Our hope is that, through our stewardship of finance and our participation in this Campaign, that we become more financially secure. Our third goal is to begin the next phase of building. I envision a process that will enable us to construct facilities which will help us serve the many needs of our parish community, both now and in the future. Rome was not built in a day, nor will Our Future be! It will take all of us guided by the Holy Spirit using our gifts of Faith and Commitment to make this vision a reality. We will invite every parish member to prayerfully consider what you can contribute to the success of this Campaign. Through prayer and sharing, we will continue to grow ever more deeply in our love for God and for each other.
